L’ESPE de Bretagne has signed a partnership with the University of New Orleans to increase research on immerse schools and bilingual studies while developing links to increase student abroad programs between the two universities.
The "Breizh Amerika Collective" (Armel an Hejer, Thomas Moisson, Alain Le Clere and Gaetan Grandjean) meet in Lothey, Brittany to work on tunes for the upcoming musical collaboration in the USA taking place in 2015. This unique musical project of discovery and exchange will blend Breton musical traditions with those of Garifuna peoples.
Breizh Amerika participated in a ceremony at Cypress Hills cemetery to honor 25 French sailors (18 of whom were of Breton descent) who died in NY Harbor in 1918 during World War I.
The sailors were serving on French war vessels la Marseillaise, le Montcalm, and la Glorie when they were victims of the Spanish Flu a few weeks before the Armistice.
Also Le Souvenir Francais - USA, the association of Anciens Combattants Francais de New York, New York State Division of Veterans'Affairs, M. le Vice-Consul of France in New York ( Consulat général de France à New York ) participated in this moving ceremony.
