Russell Dalgleish, founder of the Scottish Business Network
The Interceltic Business Forum will bring together business leaders from several Celtic nations to share their knowledge and build future collaborations.
Russell Dalgleish, founder of the Scottish Business Network, will be present in Lorient and will speak at the conference on "Diaspora as a driver for innovation".
We were able to talk with Russell a few days before the conference to better understand why he is participating this year.
What is the Scottish Business Network? Why did you decided to found this organization?
SBN is Scotland's diaspora organisation bringing together the diaspora globally to assist Scottish companies and organizations to secure opportunities across the world. SBN is a not for profit organisation funded by its members.
SBN was born from the need of Scottish entrepreneurs for support to enter the London market. From this acorn of an idea a global, kilted forest has grown around the world nurtured by the need to help fellow Scots.
How can diaspora be a driver of innovation for nations?
The Scottish Govtech Cluster delivered by SBN is a great example of the diaspora assisting with innovation www.govtech.scot. In essence the Scottish diaspora powers the cluster through the provision of services, capital, mentoring, consultancy, insight, support, experience and network access to optimise the opportunity for Scottish tech companies to succeed.
Why are you attending the Interceltic Business Forum and what type of of future collaborations are you hoping to build?
I'll be attending the Interceltic Business Forum as we believe that rich opportunities can be released by driving collaboration between members of the Celtic nations. While in Lorient I'll be looking to identify partner opportunities which can be developed into collaborative projects. Please reach out and contact Russell on firstname.lastname@example.org,
